Following the release of the National Schools Food and Fibre Education Strategy Discussion Paper earlier this year, we’re pleased to share the draft National Schools Food and Fibre Education Strategy for public consultation.
Led by AgriFutures Australia on behalf of 15 RDCs, this national Strategy is about unlocking opportunities for students and educators across all regions and systems—urban and rural, primary and secondary.
In May 2025, we released the Discussion Paper for consultation. 105 responses were received, with feedback provided around the need for Government involvement, to include Vocational Education and Training and to portray contemporary food and fibre industries. A further summary is provided in the draft Strategy.
We now invite you to provide feedback on the draft National Schools Food and Fibre Education Strategy. This draft Strategy incorporates feedback from the Discussion Paper consultation and is your final chance to provide input.
Feedback is being collated via a survey closing on Wednesday, 20 August 2025.
A public webinar will also be held on Monday, 4 August 2025, to provide an overview of the draft Strategy, outline its key priorities, and offer an opportunity for participants to ask questions. We encourage you to come along.
